CHICAGO, Illinois -- Hyundai today introduced the all-new 2013 Elantra GT and a new coupe variant to its popular Elantra line-upin a North American debut at the Chicago Auto Show.

2013 Elantra GT

Slated to arrive in dealerships this summer, Elantra GT brings five-door functionality and European driving dynamics to the expanding Elantra line-up. Elantra GT is one of three vehicles now carrying the Elantra nameplate, joining the Elantra Coupe, also revealed today, and 2012 North American Car of the Year, the Elantra sedan. Elantra GT is based on the new generation of the European-market Hyundai i30 model.

The 2013 Elantra GT is set to compete with five-door hatchbacks like the Ford Focus, Mazda3 Sport, and Volkswagen Golf. Featuring generous interior volume, unsurpassed fuel economy, a European-tuned chassis, and a Driver Selectable Steering Mode (DSSM) system, the Elantra GT blends practicality with driving enjoyment.

2013 Elantra Coupe

The two-door coupe version of the Elantra sedan, available this spring, will further expand the nameplate’s appeal to savvy consumers and attract even more buyers to the Elantra line-up. The new two-door variant offers many of the same attributes that made the sedan version the second best-selling car in Canada. The 2013 Elantra Coupe sports aggressive new “Fluidic Sculpture” design elements, a fuel-efficient powertrain, fun-to-drive dynamics, high-tech convenience features, and advanced safety equipment.
